July 29th

Mommy was home from work (kind of), so you got to spend the day with her and Brennan! We cuddled, and they watched a movie, and then you stood with Mommy, and then hung out with Brennan...you are so lucky to have such a good big brother - he loves you so much! He's always watching all of your faces, and kissing your head, and talking to you...and you seem to really adore him too!
We all went in to Mommy's work, and you got to meet a bunch of people who have been waiting for you since we found out we were having you! You wore sneakers for the first time! High top Converse. You are so stylin... I think the shoes and the shirt you were wearing today are huge on you, but Mommy says that's only because I want you to stay little forever and I'm deluding myself. I'm always right, so I'm not sure why she's questioning it :)

Cuddles, sleeping and actively not sleeping followed being at Mommy's work. For the record, that is also the order in which I enjoyed those activities...cuddles, sleeping, not sleeping.

Mama Concert Series - a verse and then a whole song (You've Got a Friend)

This was the perfect version...including smiles and actual seconds of thumb sucking!...but it cut off after the first verse without my knowing. The smiles were too good to not post anyway though:

This is the whole version:

July 28th - Two Months!!

I can't believe you're two months old!! AND I have my happy boy back! I went crazy a few times with the picture taking today...(yeah I know I always take a ton...but more than my usual...) and I believe the month-day pictures are all gonna be poor quality...as our theme. It's too close to Brennan's bedtime to have a good picture planned out to do at your exact time of birth.

You were so happy today! We had our normal morning, followed by an hour and a half of Mama Concerts because one of your MT Aunties (hereafter known as MTA's) requested 'You've got a Friend' and the first time- when you were happy and cooing the whole time might I add - the camera stopped filming, and the rest you got cranky...it took EIGHT attempts!!

You've started what I think is going to be a pattern in your bouncy seat too (which we still need batteries for by the way) which is that you get in, you talk to the pig...then the corn...then the chicken - who you talk to for the longest. Chicken makes you laugh, and talk...you two keep up this conversation for a few minutes, and then Chicken seems to say something distasteful to you and you make louder noises - like you're yelling at Chicken. You talk more rapidly with occasional louder bursts...and then you hit Chicken (!!) and then you start crying and I have to take you upstairs to your play mat. This is three days of this now... I'll keep you posted.

Two months. It seems like such an impossibly short amount of time given how much I adore you Kai...and an impossibly long time too - because it seems like you were itty bitty yesterday. I'm sure you'll roll your eyes at this some day...because before I had you - no...before I started actually seeing you grow so quickly - I rolled my eyes every time anyone said it to me... but it is amazing how quickly the time goes...and given how much I want for you in your life - how full and engaging I want your life to be - it seems crazy that I want to freeze you here. I am cherishing every single second with you...I love you way more than anyone ever told me I would kiddo...I have these visions of you and Brennan coming home from college or wherever you've moved to for Thanksgivings and things...and you're both so happy (and TALL!!)...and I'm SO happy...and still I want to freeze you right here!

Ok. Enough mush Mama... I love you...happy two month day...
