August 30th

Another eventful day in the life of Kai Alexander. We woke up and got dressed - looking quite handsome in our blue outfit - and then threw up all over it :) We made it into our next outfit and your Mama needed a ton of pictures of it - you look like such a big boy!!

You're totally grabbing things with intention now, and that makes everything that you do so much more interactive... You turn the pages of your book, you grab onto the animals on your play mat...when you sit in your Bumbo you look like a big kid just shrunken to a 14 pound version...It's like you wake up every day with all of these brand new things about yourself...it's pretty amazing to watch.

I was talking to someone at Starbucks today about how a lot of people are born into families that don't understand them...or if they could pick another, in their heart of hearts...they might...and how you seem to be mine. Like something about you knew something about me and something about me knew something about you long before we ever met...and I feel so lucky to feel that way about you. I hope you feel the same some day!

August 29th

We had a BUSY day! You met SO many people! We woke up early and you danced with Mommy and took lots of pictures in all sorts of cute positions. After that we went to Grandmom's work, and met all of her coworkers. You felt very smart being in the School District building.

From Grandmom's work we went back to my work, and you met ID, Longoria and Baya. It's pretty amazing how you seem to like them - even when you've had so many meetings in one day! It's like you were all old friends...

Grandmapa picked us up and so you got to see him too! You were smiling at him so much from my arms, but we couldn't get a good picture of that beautiful smile.

While we were at my work we stopped into the convenience store across the street and the woman who works there (who watched my whole pregnancy and also felt like she knew you already) told us that in Chinese culture your ears mean that luck is following you. I love that.
