March 28th - 22 months!!! (Seriously?!)

Once upon a time there was a Mama who was reeeeaaaallllllllly not so talented at housekeeping.  For a number of reasons this Mama had started to follow through on her promises to herself to keep things reasonable around the house.  This particular day's chore was laundry.  Dutifully she fed the dog, the cats, the baby...and went downstairs to put a load into the washing machine, singing to herself as she went.  Not even to the chorus, she headed back upstairs, excited that she was following through on her word.  The door was locked.  Frantically, she knocked on the door to get her son over to it figuring 'he was able to lock it, he's able to unlock it...'  This was a false assumption.  Eventually, Mama broke through the barricaded cellar storm door and triumphantly came into the kitchen, hugged her son...grabbed her now cold coffee and went outside for a minute to breathe.  She posted on Facebook about the horrors of it all, giggled to herself about the whole ordeal and went inside to rejoin her kiddo...and maybe to change the direction of the knob.  She came in to an entire box of Rice Krispies on the floor... This seems like an appropriate place to end the story telling...because all I'm left with is: Really?!

Really the day just got better and better from there... there was refusal to nap...inconveniently timed napping followed...and so much whining and screaming.  So very much whining and screaming.  Aunt Beth came over and played and you turned 22 months old.  Twenty-two months.  My little man... You were so tiny!!! Minute to minute things can seem absolutely endless up in here, but I can't believe it's been 22 months!

March 27th

We had a nice relaxing morning and then you went to Grandmom's work while I went to mine.  You did a lot of playing, and working...you were very very busy.  Grandmom (rightly) decided that you were fighting sleep, so she walked around and around and around and around and around the atrium until you fell asleep.

When you woke up, you two went back to G&G's and played while I was on my way to pick you up, and then we went home and saw Papa!! It had been forEVER!  You were a bit of a crab apple, but he forgave you...you're still pretty sweet for a crab, and obnoxiously cute even at your whiniest... Not a convenient truth, Mister...but a true one.

March 26th

The Supreme Court is hearing two cases this week about same sex marriage.  We won't know which was the gavel will drop just yet...probably won't for a bit...but it seemed silly to not note the event... You were born into a pretty narrow minded political climate...hopefully you'll grow up unable to believe that your mom couldn't get married in your lifetime...

We rested (you continued to crazy actually...these teeth.  I'm tired of saying it...but it's too true not to keep saying...) and then took a bath (which did amazing things to your hair today...)  We had Matzoh pizza and played for a little and then you (FINALLY) napped.  We got to G&G's later than we meant to, but made it in time for the Seder on time...  You really love Grandmom's cooking.  This is not surprising, in that it is ridiculously delicious...it IS surprising in that you have refused potatoes since the day you were introduced to them unless they're in french fry form...and you actually screamed at me to give you more!  You loved the singing parts of the Seder...even came back in from playing in the other room to hear more of it! :)
