September 21st

"Steph? Find Kai."

I knew I wasn't gonna be around for a bit, so we started a project - making truck magnets out of concrete.  Eventually, though, I had to work, so you and Steph went to Ikea to get some ice cream.  I mean...organizational things. You fell asleep on the way home, so we went to drop off Kai: Steph, ask where Kai. Went to Ikea to get some organizational things and had to get ice cream on the way out. On the way home you fell asleep, so, we went to Amaris and Stuart's house to drop some presents off for Adelise.  We headed home because we were going to get ready to go to the pool with Rosie and Dolly, but we also told Aunt Jackie that we'd stop by Haines for a block party.  You ended up having SO much fun and watched football with Shai and the guys.  Heh...Absolutely hilarious.

We went to the pool, and, as it turned out, we got very little time there.  It's pretty amazing in there, I'm a bit bummed that we didn't get more time.  We'll get to know it better soon enough though. You "found a friend" in the locker room (your reflection in the knob) and had a whole conversation with them.  I sometimes can't even believe how wonderful you are to be around.

We got home and  painted our magnet trucks, and played violin, and hung out with Ayo... What a day!

September 20th

You didn't WANT to go to dance...until you got there.  Stinker.  Look how gorgeous you are!!! Can you hear Grandmom saying "Uch, look at him! I NEED that PICture.  Can you please send that to me please?"

I had to run ten thousand errands, so you stayed home with Steph and drew fish swimming!  Sigh.  I wish I had been there!  You and Steph got all Jewey in your Shabbat kippot, and I came home to matching head coverings.  Dolly, Rosie and Milo came over, and you played and painted with Ro, and cuted with Milo, and Dolly and I gardened.  We left some sunflower stalks and some taller plants up to make sure that the mantises had places to hide.  They were EVERYwhere in the yard.  I think it's you that attracts them.

You insisted on a bath - how could I say no to that - and also insisted that I take a shower...funny that we're in a place in our lives where that's not insulting but actually a welcome and thankable thing to insist...

You did a little naked climbing, and then we read and snuggled in for bed...Good night, Sweet Man.
