August 25th

We played and blogged and pretended to sleep in the room for the morning and then went to the Novacks' house.  You slept for a long time once you got started, which allowed me to have coffee with ice cream in it (brilliant idea, Dennis...brilliant) and talk to Julia on facetime.  Did you know that we get to see her in October?!

We went to the beach and met a cutie named Chase and his family.  The ocean gave us a great ball that you were pretty excited about.  You're not really all about me making drip castles.  I'm gonna keep trying, but I think it's probably best left to Matty.  A year is a long time to wait, Man!  You and I went for a walk on the boardwalk and had a pretty good talk.  We were needing a pretty good talk.  I finished everything I needed to say and then got stuck staring at the ocean for a few extra beats...and you turned my head to you, rubbed my cheek and smiled.  God I love you.

Steph came and said a quick (few hour) hello.  Atlantic City is sort of 'on the way' from New York... :)  We all had dinner, Grandmom showered you and put your hair in a pony tail (which was cute...but the curls are cuter...).  We said goodbye to Steph, and came home and you fell asleep pretty quickly after some water ice.  I will give you water ice every night, Little, if it means that you'll fall quickly to sleep!

From Kai's Perspective: The Hotel Room

August 24th

The ocean...for a week, Mister...Ahhhhh.... (how'd the cat find me?!)

We went for an unexpectedly long walk today in search of bathing suit tops for me.  Eventually we decided to go to the place we were meant to go to first, and there they were: tons of options...even on sale.  Lots and lots of walking.  It really exhausted you to be pushed around for that long as you can imagine.  Luckily I wasn't tired at all from it all, and nursed you right there in the line while doing half a tree pose to keep you up while signing for my shirts.  You've got it made, Mister.

A nap and then the beach...the sweet sweet beach...and then Chinese food.  All in all it's been a pretty successful start to vaca!
