We spent the morning playing until around ten AM when we glued ourselves to the TV and our phones on the SCOTUSblog.com anxiously awaiting the decisions on DOMA and Prop 8. We got (largely) the answers we wanted on them...and you and Yanira danced as she sang "Oh Happy Day" (and then stopped because she realized it was a religious song...and then started again, cause it was a happy day...) It's so interesting to think about how much is likely to be different by the time you have the opportunity to read and understand this blog. So much of where you come from has such insane history....I hope by the time you're reading this you can't even believe some of the things we're fighting for now were ever not true....
Have I mentioned yet that the weather has been crazy - hot hot hot and then super rainy, the temperature drops 20 degrees for like five minutes and then we're back up to the hot hot hot and it starts over again. So, with that, today we decided to go to the spray park. You were really shy and hesitant with it at first...which is funny, because you LOVED it last year...but you warmed up to it eventually and we ended up having SUCH a good time!
On our way home we decided to stop for a cheesesteak, (which you STOLE FROM ME! I'm trying SO HARD to have you be a vegetarian!!) and then went to look at the other spray park we're used to going to...which was closed...then we went passed Papa's house and the Ferver's house to show Yanira where they live, but Dolly was home! So we went in and played with her for a bit before deciding that the Fervers should probably come over for dinner... :) You sang and had conversations and took videos and pictures of yourself in the car on the way home... I can't stand it how cute these videos are...I'm so thankful for iPhones...and for the Fervers...and Yanira...and you. Life's pretty good sometimes, eh?
