We had SO much fun at dance this morning...you were SO EXCITED to see "Jov-Lucy" and you were pretty sad that they were busy for the rest of the day. So, we decided to have a special Mommy-Kai date day. We went and partook in a Gap Kids sale, and then (adorably) went to Elmwood to feed the Bison! Yo...how cool?!
Ya know, we got to the playground portion of the zoo, and you ran off...barely wanting me around at all...and I was proud of my willingness to let it happen, but so conflicted about your doing it! I chose the parenting style that I did so that you would do exactly what you're doing...being confident to go and do things without me, being confident that I'm around and close enough that if something went awry I could help...but I missed you! I can't believe how beautifully you played with all the kids there (it was a special day at the zoo for Autism awareness, and many of the people around had some different ways of communicating and playing than you're used to), how you adapted your communications, and you did such an amazing job climbing things! Totally competently! Lordy, I love you. It's shocking that it gets bigger...and yet...
We came home and you pretty much wanted bed for the rest of the night. You were pooped. We snuggled and waited for Steph to come home, ate dinner in bed, and then went to sleep...Once of us went to sleep with a Bison on their head...
