You know what sounds like a good idea? Waking up a toddler at 5am, driving 6 hours with him, and then having him sit quietly through a Catholic School's graduation. What could go wrong? (We didn't even make it 5 minutes into the ceremony.)
I'm not sure how we didn't get a picture of it, but we each got mac and cheese shirts to surprise Uncle Thomas with...and we slowly started changing into the shirts to see when/if he'd notice. He did eventually - and before Steph got her shirt on. You slept almost immediately after getting to Donna and Ted's house, and woke up right after dinner, just in time for dessert. You ate the cream out of ten or so vanilla oreos, and then went about the serious play of a boy and his teenage uncles. You "rawr'd" and chased, and jammed... Again, time spent with family we'd LOVE to be closer to.
We left their house and headed to ANOTHER family member we wish we were closer to: Nana. (Aunt Vanessa is in Philly this weekend! What insane timing!) You watched animals play classical music until you threw up, and then we were there! Nana is the first batch of birthday presents! Yo, I'm not trying to deal with the fact that you're about to be three. Every year it happens that I get all emotional and freaked out about it, and every year it becomes obvious that the number is different, but you're not changing any faster for it having shifted...and every year it doesn't matter. I just love you just as you are! Luckily, I love you just as you are and have through every 'just as you are,' so I bet it's just gonna keep going on the same... Three, Man...what the hell...
