August 31st

So.  This sad time of year happens when you are the grower of a giant crop of sunflowers...all of the flowers start to bow their heads, and they start announcing the end of the season...and looking kind of somber.  It seemed like the right thing to do to thin out the herd for our neighbors before we left for a week.  You'll notice (maybe) that under the stalks are a whole new crop of flowers...the garden was planned that way.  Next year's under the sunflower crop will have to be a bit more fantastic though...this pruning was quite depressing.  You and Steph went to go and get bagels (and cookies, it turned out) while I pruned.

We're also making sure to take pictures of our mantis friends because I'm not positive they'll stay without the massive sunflower brush to hide in.  Sigh.

The bright side to most of our stories, though, the Fervers, came to visit!  You held Milo in your thinking chair, and you and Ro (in her princess dress - Anna to be precise) played and looked at each other against each other's will and other such irritations of three year olds.  The two of you learn a lot of life lessons together... :)  You also did some yoga as taught by Rosie...an excellent teacher if the pictures have anything to say about it.  You two occupied each other perfectly while I made all of Steph's and my lunches for our week at THE BEACH!!!  YAYAYAY!!!
