October 14th

We did a few more hours of playing with Uncle Thomas and Uncle Matthew before packing up to head back to Philly.  We left just in time for your nap!  That said, you didn't care much for the idea of napping.  You watched an awful lot of 'The Little Engine That Could,' and 'Fraggle Rock.'  We stopped for something to eat in Connecticut, and ended up stopping in Sandy Hook.  It was a pretty cute little town - what we saw of it anyway - and with the changing leaves, and your gorgeous little self...well... Your Mama is pretty lucky for you, Mister...and really thankful.

You have been a pretty ideal travel companion this trip.  I mean, you definitely had one or two mini-melts on the drives, but largely you remained in good spirits.  This meant you pretty much got whatever you wanted throughout the drive.  You wanted fries? We got them.  NYPD car set?  Yours.  AND, when you wanted to play the surprise egg game in the rest stop, we had to play.  Mister, you got the golden egg!  It didn't really end up meaning all that much, but still, I'd say getting the golden egg is a pretty big deal.   You drove your new cars (and flew your new helicopter) around the walking paths of the rest stop, and we headed off for the last leg of the trip...which you FINALLY fell asleep for.  Stinker.

I love you, Little.  It's so nice that I get to have you around for so many important parts of my life.  You're a really great travel companion, but also just my ideal companion in general.  I love spending time with and learning with, and exploring with you.  Oh blah blah, emotional-day-Mama... Heh... I love you, Squidge.
