July 14th

I wouldn't help you to lock the door on Jake's crate, so you just sat in front of the door.  Stinker.

Today was a very creativity-based day!  You did a lot of painting (totally your idea) and I did my best to let your creative process take you from the set up with paint brushes that I had set up to pouring the paint all over the canvases and then smooshing it all with your hands.  Deep breaths.  Parenthood has taught me all about breathing deeply.  I love your color choices, and while I'm sure that it doesn't look like it, I think you plan and rather enjoy the textures in your paintings.  My Grandfather, Dandy, (Grandmapa's father) actually painted with a similar eye towards texture.  I wonder what of that is coincidence and what of that is hereditary...

We wrote Julia and Lauren at camp, and danced in the rain... We had long conversations with elephants in bed, and played on Steph's legs again.  I (we) have so much fun with you!!  I am the luckiest person ever...
