We started the day off with a bath and then we were off to see Papa!! God, seeing you two together is kind of the best thing and kind of heart breaking...it's so hard that he lives so far away. You love him so much... I mean, clearly, he also loves you so much... You two have such an effortless relationship. You laugh giant deep belly laughs around him and even in the incredibly sad goodbye you two had today, watching the video of how happy you were while playing with him made you giggle. You've had a tremendous amount of loss in your life, kiddo. Compared to others, you're obviously quite blessed...and the majority of the losses haven't been of people, just of relationships...but I wonder sometimes if I've done enough to counter the shifting weights of people's impact on your daily life. Gosh I hope so...
I tended to your day's wound the best way I knew how - ICE CREAM! We had ice cream and then ran down Brian's yard for a bit...and then, when you were already ready for bed...I remembered that it was free comic day! You and Steph went out and had a late night date at the comic book store. I've got to admit, Man, I'm kinda terrible at reading comic books. But...I'm happy you're happy!
