This was kind of the longest day ever.
We....carved our pumpkin (who looks strangely like Uncle Thomas...though not from this angle), we found the perfect formula for combing through your hair with no tears....(NO TEARS!!!) We colored, we drew, we swept while waiting for someone to come and talk to us about speech services... (we're getting your speech tested next week... Even though you've been talking up a storm lately, it's still worth getting checked out. If we could get someone to give you services for them you might start talking in iambic pentameter though, and the prospect of that is too cool to turn down)
We went to G&G's house and ate lunch with them, then we went to pick up Steph and drove around while you slept...and you woke up just in time to go to the kid parade in West Philly! You wanted to be carried the whole time, and when I wouldn't carry you you started screaming like a mad man. We decided that it was you being both the siren and the water with which the fireman would put out the fires. That...didn't make me any happier about your grump...but it was creative!
We went back to G&G's so you could show off your costume, and we trick-or-treated at Max's house (where you really just wanted to play with him...which you couldn't...which started the tears again...)
And then we finally came home! We trick-or-treated at Brian's house and then you were over it. But, you didn't want to take off your costume when you came inside, so in our living room, a fire engine was playing with trucks!! How many people can say that?!
Look at you over the years, man... I always get a little sentimental (ahem...always...but even more so) on Halloween because it's the first time I got to see you! I love you Little Man...
