September 18th

We woke up early this morning and talked about school.  We talked about my needing to go to work, and how you love Miss Terry and how it's nice to meet new friends... We got dressed, and you walked to the car, excitedly took your lunch box... The whole car ride was great until we got to the parking lot, at which point you started getting sad.  We talked some more and then walked into school.  We got into the room and talked to Miss Terry for a few minutes, and then I said that I had to go to work.  You looked at me with huge watery doe eyes and reached for Miss Terry to take you.  You looked over at me with tears in your eyes and scream/cried "byebye!..." like 18 times.  Oh, Kiddo...I wish you knew how much this was breaking my heart...and I hope you learn so soon that there's not a second of my life where you're not present in me.  And...while we're at it...I also hope that you learn that it's OK to be OK when I'm not around.  I say this because every time I pick you up I peek in first, and you're totally fine.  Once you see me, you completely melt down into hysterics.  Sweet sweet boy...

I had this idea that going for a walk would be a nice way for you to nap.  I was incorrect.  You were too tired to fall asleep, and cried for half of the walk that happened after we went to the playground.  I fed you, and that seemed to calm you down enough that you drifted off...Steph watched you while I did a session, and I do mean - she watched you...for the whole session.  You really are quite calming when you're sleeping.
We went to see Papa at the park, and you two were so sweet and so silly.  You ran around the park, and then you collected me treasures from the ground (which was extra awesome, because you're talking about nature and collecting things from it for your class!) and then you two were sitting and talking on the ground and a little boy came up to you...stared at you for a little, and then with a flourish of his hands, poofed dust at you.  It was amazing.  Clearly, this was a sign that we should get pizza.  We went to Steph's favorite pizza place in Papa's neighborhood.  Everyone wins!
